5 Volt 1 Amp Power Supply

A DC Power Supply diagram that can be used in electronics workshops and laboratories and can be made with a small number of electronic materials is shown in the picture.

The transformer has 12 volt output. The AC output clipped by the full wave rectifier installed with two 1N4001 diodes is brought closer to the DC voltage via the capacitor C1. With the 7805 positive voltage regulator circuit element, 5 Volts is given to the output.

Add-on Possibilities:
A 1 Amp fuse can be connected to the transformer input. After the fuse link, the power switch can be connected.
"ON/OFF" indication can be made by connecting a 3K ohm resistor to the 7805 output between the "+" and "- /Gnd" terminals.
