Why Is Security Important?
In a complex world, you need to help make your workloads more secure, from processes to technologies. AMD Infinity Guard provides an industry-leading set of modern security features that help reduce potential attack surfaces during software startup, execution, and processing of your critical data.
What's Unique in AMD's Approach to Security?
AMD is serious about security. With modern “ZEN” architecture, AMD processors are designed with security in mind to be highly resilient against today's sophisticated attacks, helping to protect your sensitive data, prevent downtime and reduce resource consumption. Additionally, AMD Infinity Guard provides a unique and robust set of security features that help complement industry ecosystem partners at the software and system levels.
Embedded at the silicon level, AMD Infinity Guard delivers the advanced capabilities needed to help defend against internal and external threats and keep your data safe with virtually no impact on system performance.
Secure Encrypted Virtualization
With Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV), AMD EPYC™ processors help protect privacy and integrity by encrypting each virtual machine with one of up to 509 unique encryption keys known only to the processor. This helps protect the privacy of your data even if a malicious VM finds a way to get into your VM's memory or if a compromised hypervisor reaches the guest VM.
Secure Nested Call
The new 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ processors feature the latest advancements in AMD SEV technologies called Secure Nested Paging (SEV-SNP). SEV-SNP adds powerful memory integrity protection capabilities to help prevent malicious hypervisor-based attacks such as data replay, memory remapping, and more to create an isolated execution environment.
